Riverview PTSA Board Meeting Minutes April 9, 2026

In Attendance:  Monica Giles, Laura Ashby, Jennifer Clark, Lisa Sheffield, Maren Patterson, Holly Hales, Megumi Garriott, Kristy Honsvick, Earl Kauffman.  
Minutes Approval:  Monica Giles Motion:  Laura Ashby, 2nd Jennifer Clark 

Treasurer Report:  None this month as no money came in or went out.  A check came in from Raising Cane’s and another is expected from the upcoming Zupas night before the next meeting. 

Vote for next year’s board:   President: Jennifer Clark (Motion by Maren Patterson, 2nd by Monica Giles) Secretary:  Katrina Harris (Motion by Laura Ashby, 2nd by Megumi Garriott) Treasurer: Adah Shumway (Motion by Laura Ashby, 2nd by Megumi Garriott) *All three were passed unanimously by all members present and two remote votes (Adah Shumway and JD Ashby) 

Principal Report: Earl Kauffman Discussion on window removal over the summer.  Natural light will be limited.  Testing and final performances are coming up.   

Teacher appreciation week: Laura Ashby Discussed ideas for the week. Possibly a “goat” theme or sunshine or both! A few volunteers offered to be in charge of a meal for some of the days. Laura will make sure the teachers have a schedule for the week so they know what to plan on.   Discussed ways to support teachers sometime in April by bringing in donuts or coffee, see how much it would cost to have a chair massage from a local school, etc. 

Service Project Update: Finishing up dog toys with possibly one to two more days during Jurassic. If the times don’t work out, we will save our supplies to possibly reuse next year. 

Still looking for volunteers for next year, there are many things to help with!
